Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin condition characterised by scaly plaques typically over the scalp, elbows and knees.
It affects 1 – 3% of the population, where there are two age groups of onset
- Under the age of 40, resulting from a positive family history (genetic basis)
- Over the age of 40, with no family history (no genetic basis)
