Hair Loss (Alopecia)
Hair Loss (Alopecia)

Alopecia refers to male pattern and female pattern hair loss. For men, it is genetically and androgen (male hormone) related, and in some individuals there is a familial history. For women, there could be a hormonal imbalance resulting in excessive production of androgens. The androgens stimulate body hair growth but cause hair loss of the scalp.
